The record-breaking flu season is turning more deadly with mortality rates more than doubling in the last week according to the CDC and at least 17 children dying so far this season. Hospitalizations from the flu are also up 20 percent with the rising numbers coming the same week the federal government announced it is no longer recommending every child get a flu shot. NBC’s Liz Kreutz reports for Saturday TODAY.
