Immersive new frontline combat war documentary with 94% score is now streaming | Films | Entertainment

Back in 2023, filmmaker Mstyslav Chernov released his Oscar-winning documentary 20 Days in Mariupol, featuring footage from the first weeks of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

Now he’s back with follow-up film 2000 Meters to Andriivka, which follows him and a Ukrainian platoon on a mission to liberate the Russian-occupied village of Andriivka.

What’s so incredible about the footage is that it’s real-time battlefield fighting with body-cams on the soldiers as they face the enemy and deal with their brothers in arms dying around them.

The unique and harrowing film has 94% positive reviews on Rotten Tomatoes.

Winner of numerous awards, the documentary has been long-listed for the Best International Feature Film Oscar nomination and shortlisted for Best Documentary.

2000 Meters to Andriivka is available to rent or buy on Apple TV and Prime Video.
