The Milano-Cortina Winter Olympics is into day 13, with athletes hoping to grab more medals on offer in a variety of sports throughout the day.

Nine gold medals were awarded on Wednesday, with Norwegian cross-country skier Johannes Hoesflot Klaebo – the most decorated athlete in the history of the Winter Olympics – winning one of those. Klaebo won his 10th gold by claiming top spot in the team freestyle sprint alongside Einar Hedegart.

Elsewhere, Mikaela Shiffrin returned to victory after a long absence from the Olympic podium, while Arianna Fontana became the most successful Italian athlete in Olympic history with her medal in the women’s short track speed skating team event.

Thursday is expected to be another action-packed day in the Games, with medals at stake and Team GB in curling action in the afternoon. Indeed, the women’s team take on Italy (1:05pm), while the men are hoping for a helping hand to seal their spot in the semi-final, needing either Italy or Norway to lose their match on Thursday morning.

Stay tuned for all of the latest live updates throughout the day…
