A federal judge said Friday he will approve a deal with OxyContin maker Purdue Pharma to settle thousands of lawsuits from victims of the opioid epidemic. The settlement will require members of the Sackler family, who own the company, to pay up to $7 billion to those victims. The Sackler family will also give up their ownership.
