Tesco offers 1 million customers Easter freebie – make one check | Personal Finance | Finance

Tesco is giving away free bags of Cadbury Mini Eggs to one million customers in its nationwide Easter Egg hunt. From today, one million Clubcard members will find a digital coupon in the Coupons section of their Tesco app, allowing them to claim a 74g bag of Cadbury Mini Eggs.

Clubcard members should check the app as soon as possible, since the free chocolate can only be claimed between Thursday, April 2 and Easter Monday. The coupon can only be redeemed in Tesco stores. Shama Wilson, group membership and loyalty director at Tesco, said the supermarket was delighted to be treating some Clubcard members this Easter.

“Easter is a special celebration, and we wanted to treat Clubcard members to something they’ll really love,” she said.

“We know Cadbury Mini Eggs are a firm family favourite at this time of year, so we’re offering some lucky customers an extra little treat when they visit one of our Tesco stores this Bank Holiday.

“I’d urge everyone to check their Tesco app to see if they’ve been selected. The Tesco app is always the best place to find out the latest deals and treats from Tesco Clubcard.”

Selected customers have been chosen to receive the coupon based on their past shopping habits. Loyalty members who do not receive a coupon will get Mini Eggs at the Clubcard price of £1.45. The retail price without the discount is £2.

The Express recently conducted a mini egg experiment to see how many eggs per bag you receive after shrinkflation. We found you now get between 22 and 23 eggs per bag, working out at roughly 9p per bite.

Mini Eggs have been the subject of national outcry over the years, with bags having shrunk from 80g to 74g since 2019, a 7.5% reduction, while prices have continued to rise.

M&S’s rival Speckled Eggs, which have received rave reviews online, cost £2.75 for a 150g bag, making them cheaper per gram than Mini Eggs at full retail price.
