Back in May, Amazon MGM Studios announced, “The search for the next James Bond is underway. While we don’t plan to comment on specific details during the casting process, we’re excited to share more news with 007 fans as soon as the time is right.”
Nina Gold (Game of Thrones, The Crown) was announced as casting director, joining producers Amy Pascal and David Heyman, plus director Denis Villeneuve and screenwriter Steven Knight in the first hunt for a new big-screen 007 in over two decades.
The latest news is that the finalists to replace Daniel Craig have been informed they’ve made it through to the next round of auditions, which will take place in August.
According to Deadline’s sources, there are at least 5 and as many as 19 actors in the running. The insiders claim Gold has been meeting with lesser-known actors who might have made it through alongside rumoured stars. As it stands with William Hill’s odds, Scott Rose-Marsh and Harris Dickinson are at 8/1, followed by Jacob Elordi on 15-2, Aaron Taylor-Johnson on 6-1 and the favourite Callum Turner who is on Evens. The latter was recently captured by a professional photographer celebrating his wedding to Dua Lipa, while sporting a James Bond tuxedo…
